Support

How can we help?

A real person answers your email, usually within a day. Write to support@oomny.eu and say which garden and which station you are looking at.

Stations and frost dates

Where do the dates come from?

From the national weather services. For every station Maythorn takes 30 years of daily minimum temperatures and computes the median last spring frost, the date nine years in ten are past their last frost, the first week of nights above 8 °C, and the median first autumn frost. Settings has a "Station data sources" screen listing every network and its licence.

Why does it show a station instead of my exact address?

Because that is the honest answer. Interpolating between stations was tested against real station records and missed by more than a fortnight along the coast, so Maythorn shows the station it used and how far away it is, and lets you pick another one. A number you can check beats a number that looks precise.

My country is not in the list.

Then its daily records are not openly licensed for this yet, and the app says so rather than estimating. Italy and Mexico are in that position today. Everything else still works, and logging your own frost nights gives you a measured record of your own plot, which is better than any station once you have a few seasons in it.

The date looks wrong for my garden.

Check the distance on the card first: a station 40 km inland from a coastal garden really does freeze later. If you know a nearer station, pick it in garden setup. If you think the station itself is off, email us with the station name and what you observe.

Journal, plants and export

What can I record?

Sowed, potted on, planted out, harvested, frost nights and plain notes, each with a date, against a bed or a single plant. Perennials and fruit trees are tracked across years rather than reset each season.

How do I get my data out?

Settings has an export that writes your whole garden to a file through the share sheet. It is free in both the free and the paid version, on purpose.

Does anything sync or leave my phone?

No. There is no account and no server. Your garden lives on the device, which also means a backup of your phone is what carries it to a new one.

Buying and restoring

What does the purchase include?

One payment of €19.99 opens unlimited gardens and beds, every past season with the year-on-year comparison, and perennials and fruit trees. Family Sharing is on. There is no subscription.

I paid but the app still looks free.

Open the paywall and choose Restore Purchases; that re-reads your App Store account. If it still does not unlock, email us from the address tied to that account.

Can I try it first?

The free version is a real version, with no time limit: one garden, this season's journal, the full frost window with its station attribution, and export.
